All is set for the grand finale of the 2024 MTN Ashantifest Community Soccer tournament next Sunday, July 28 following the conclusion of the last four ties on Friday at the Otumfuo Park in Dichemso.
In the first semi-final fixture, Bantama edged defending champions, Ejisu 4-2 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw whilst Amakom saw off debutants Adoato 2-1 in the other tie to set up their clash for the ultimate.
It means for the umpteenth time, there will be new winners when the trophy, gold medals and a whopping Gh¢20,000 (twenty thousand Ghana Cedis) cash prize are handed out at the same Dichemso Otumfuo Park come Sunday, following in the footsteps of Abrepo the inaugural champions in 2021, Old Tafo in 2022 and Ejisu last year.
The beaten finalists of the 20-team tournament spanning 2 months will also go home with Gh¢10,000 plus medals as consolation, whilst the 3rd place winners between beaten semi finalists, Ejisu and Adoato are also assured a cool Gh¢5,000 and medals.
