A trio of world title chasing fighters of the Osibor Boxing Promtions and Management stable, Ghana and UBO Africa featherweight champ, Stanley ‘Ashanti Warrior’ Nyantakyi, UBO international titlist, John ‘Monster’ Zile and rapidly rising Jonathan Mbanugu AKA Jon Power have all been confirmed to fight in the USA before end of 2024, it is official.
According to a press release issued by the Ghanaian boxing syndicate, Mbanugu who is just coming off a first international fight in Albania last month, will be first out against American Kevin Johnson for the UBO international title in Philadelphia on October 12.
Unbeaten Zile who recently captured the UBO international super bantamweight title is scheduled next for a probable date in November, most likely against compatriot, Samuel Martei Laryea before Stanley Nyantakyi, the Ghana and UBO Africa featherweight champion goes for the UBO world title against Sergio Sosa of Argentina in Wisconsin on 7 December.

“In concordance with our ultimate pursuit at Osibor Boxing Management and Promotions, three of our battle tested boxers namely Jon ‘Power’ Mbanugu, John Zile, and Stanley Nyantakyi nicknamed Ashanti Warrior will make their US debuts in championship bouts by the end of the year.
The trio’s journey will begin with Jon ‘Power’ Mbanugu, who recently challenged for the WBO youth world light-heavyweight title in Albania, returning to the championship stage as he dares American Kevin Johnson for the UBO international light-heavyweight title.
The event will take place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on October 12, 2024. The show is promoted by former world champion Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia’s DSG Promotions.
A deal for undefeated UBO international super bantamweight title holder, John Zile to fight for the UBO world super bantamweight title has also been finalised.
He will be facing countryman Samuel Martei Laryea in the clash of Ghana’s top super bantamweights. This will likely be in November as fight date and venue are being finalised and would be announced soon.
The Osibor trio’s journey will culminate with Stanley Nyantakyi who currently holds the Ghana national and UBO Africa featherweight titles going up against Sergio ‘El Canalla’ Sosa of Argentina for the UBO world featherweight title.
The fight will take place at the Menominee Casino Resort in Keshena, Wisconsin in the United States on December 7, 2024 and will be promoted by International Boxing.
