Official: Jon Power will face Kevin Johnson of the USA in Pennsylvania on 12 October

Ghana’s Jonathan Mbanugu aka ‘Jon Power’ will mount the ring in the 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, PA, United States of America to fight for the UBO International Light Heavyweight title on 10.12.2024.

His opponent is American Kevin Johnson and the bout will be live on PPV at DMDb.com. The 31 year old has 12 wins and four loses in 16 bouts.

According to Mr. Gordon Frimpong, Manager of Osibor Promotions, this is a unique opportunity for Mbanugu to make amends after he lost the world title chance in Albania.

He said fighting in America is the big stage so Mbanugu should seize the chance and make it a great victory for himself, the Osibor brand and Ghana as a whole.

“We can’t let this opportunity slip so we have take it and we are presenting our boxers to go out and show what they have and what they can do. We have Stanley Nyantekyi aka Ashanti Warrior, Jonathan Mbanugu and John Zile who have the chance to fight on the UBO ticket and I am very sure they will put up good shows” he said.

Light Heavyweight Jonathan Mbanugu now has ten wins, one draw and one loss in 12 fights, however Super Bantamweight John Zile and the Ashanti Warrior who is a Featherweight are undefeated.

“With the blessings of the Asantehene I know we are going to make it big and bigger” he stressed.

Mr. Gordon Frimpong said boxing investment is huge so the rewards and profits must be good and satisfying.

He thanked the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) and the UBO for the support and confidence in his boxers as well as the Ghana Sports and Boxing Supporters Unions.
