Former light flyweight world title challenger, Rene Santiago faces Panamanian contender Azael Villar in the 10-round main event this Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Coliseo Marcelo Trujillo Panisse in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
Santiago-Azael and undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
Santiago (12-4, 9 KOs) made his pro debut in November 2014. He had a banner 2023, earning a ninth-round TKO against Carlos Ortega in April before stopping then-unbeaten Kevin Vivas in the 12th round to capture the interim crown.
The 32-year-old is coming off his first world title opportunity, a unanimous decision loss against Jonathan Gonzalez in March.
Villar (21-3-4, 15 KOs) returns after decisioning Vivas across eight in July.
