The second edition of the Tizza Football Gala came to an end last Saturday the 28 of December 2024.
Naayibog Warriors, winners of the first edition went to the finals but could not win the trophy for the second time. This time Saaduon won the trophy by scoring Naayibog Warriors 1-0. The shock of the tournament was the team from Sigri, they came into the competition as underdogs but surprisingly got to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Naayibog Warriors.
The best player of the tournament went to the goalie of Naayibog Warriors, Renious Anlaaminga, the best goalkeeper was received by the goalkeeper of Sigri, Ishmael Addo, the best coach award went to coach Desmond of Naayibog and discovery of the tournament went to coach Thompson Bapiira of Sigri.
The Chief of Tizza commended the people of for the promotion of peace and unity, thank all the teams for putting up a first class performance in the second edition of the gala.
He congratulated President- elect, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for winning the 2024, election and appealed for an Astro-turf pitch, the chief said the youths in the area are very talented but lack good football pitches and other training facilities, so President- elect John Dramani Mahama should do them that favor.
The Planning Committee Chairman, ING. Gaspard Dordaa and organizer of gala, thanked the people of Tizza for their support for the gala.
