Rafatu Inusah elected Head of Women’s Rugby at Union of West African Rugby Federations

In a historic election held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on Friday, Rafatu Inusah, Director of the Ghana Rugby Football Union, was elected as the head of Women’s Rugby at the inaugural Union of West African Rugby Federations meeting, a milestone that marks a significant step forward for women’s rugby in West Africa.

Ms. Inusah took to social media to express her gratitude, stating, “I am humbled for this opportunity to serve on the board of Union of West Africa Federations. Together, we shall help change the narrative in West Africa.”

She also saluted the members who made her election possible and called on women to come together to lift the spirits of the game of rugby.

The inaugural Union of West African Rugby Federations brought together rugby union presidents from across West Africa, including Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Niger Republic, and Senegal..

This united front aims to drive development, foster talent, and elevate rugby to new heights in West Africa.

As a seasoned rugby administrator and former captain of the Ghana Rugby Women’s Team, Rafatu Inusah brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her election is a testament to her dedication to promoting women’s rugby and developing the sport in Ghana and West Africa.
