Kotoko sack Coach Prosper Ogum after poor run of form

Asante Kotoko have officially parted ways with head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum following a series of underwhelming performances in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Ogum, who led the Porcupine Warriors to league glory in the 2021/22 campaign, was reappointed in July 2023 with high hopes.

However, recent results have fallen short of expectations, with the team going winless in their last three matches. A disappointing 2-0 defeat to Nations FC on Matchday 28 appears to have been the final straw.

A statement released by the club on Saturday afternoon confirmed the decision:

“Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has this afternoon parted company with Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
This decision was reached following constructive discussions between both parties, with a shared understanding that it is in the best interest of the club at this time.

We thank Coach Ogum for his dedication and service to the club, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

We urge our supporters to remain calm and continue to support the club during this transition. Further updates will be communicated in due course.”

Kotoko currently sit six points behind league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars, with just six matches left in the season. As the title race heats up, the Porcupine faithful will be hoping for a quick turnaround under new leadership.
