Obour Cycling Challenge Set to Pedal into Nsawam on November 9

The 2025 Obour Cycling Challenge is set to take place on November 9, marking its third edition.

This premier cycling event in Ghana offers numerous benefits to participants, spectators, and the local economy. By promoting cycling as a sport, the event encourages people to adopt a healthier lifestyle and engage in regular physical activity. It also generates revenue for local businesses, boosts the local economy, and fosters community spirit.

Additionally, the event highlights the need for improved cycling infrastructure in Ghana, encouraging investment in bike lanes and secure parking facilities.

The founder of the Obour Cycling Challenge, Emmanuel Obour, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event in an interview with the media last Sunday. He stated that this year’s edition will be big, with a large turnout of professional elite cyclists, young and old, from Ghana and abroad.

Emmanuel Obuor – Founder and CEO, Obuor Cycling ChallengeĀ

Mr. Obour highlighted that the Obour Cycling Challenge is about “cycling for all.”

The event has received sponsorship from notable companies, including Engineering Auto Tech, Case Die Motors, Rakeli International School, Port City Football Club, Blue Skied, Erinyac Logistics, Manelle Noir and Boti Falls, with other companies also having shown interest in supporting the event.

According to the organizers, winners of the event will receive cash prizes, medals, trophies, and certificates. The competition will feature two categories: the Elite Men will cover 100km, while the ladies will cover 40km.

The Obour Cycling Challenge is a valuable initiative that supports local development, promotes cycling, and contributes to the growth of Ghana’s sports industry. With its exciting lineup and generous prizes, it’s an event that cycling enthusiasts won’t want to miss.

Also, the location of the event is Nsawam, not Nsawaw-LindaDor. Make sure to double-check the location to avoid confusion. The event’s promise to be bigger and better this year is in line with its growing popularity and support from local businesses and the community.
