Exciting Moments from the Farmers’ Day Tennis Competition at Premier Tennis Club of Tema

In a vibrant celebration of sports and agriculture, the Premier Tennis Club of Tema hosted its annual Farmers’ Day tennis competition. Sponsored primarily by KGL Foundation, this event has become a staple in the community over the past five years, drawing hundreds of tennis enthusiasts eager to support their favorite teams.

The tournament concluded with a thrilling doubles final, where Richard Frimpong Ansah and Sisu Tomegah from Sakumono Tennis Club triumphed over the host team, Premier Tennis Club, with an impressive score of 7-1.

Reflecting on their victory, Richard Frimpong Ansah shared, “We’re very excited. We came in confident, knowing what we could do while respecting our opponents. We played with a free mind and came out successful.” His partner, Sisu Tomegah, added, “I’m also very excited! This is my first time representing Sakumono Tennis Club, and I’m happy to have made them proud. It was a great game!”

Dr. Michael Quashie, Chairman of the Premier Tennis Club, remarked on the significance of the event: “This day is all about celebrating our farmers through sports and tennis. We had teams from various clubs compete, making it a fantastic event.” He expressed optimism for the future, stating, “This year has been a success, but we’re aiming to make it even bigger and better next year!”

The event was supported by numerous sponsors, including Imperial General Assurance, Bel Aqua, GNPC, OceanBells Gh Travel, Sky Water, CDH Financial Holdings, Ekuus Pharmacy, Pensions Alliance Trust, and Raphael Medical Centre—each playing a crucial role in making the event possible.

The day wrapped up with an awards ceremony, delicious food, and lively music, creating a festive atmosphere for everyone involved. Stay tuned for next year’s event, which promises to be even more extraordinary!
