Asante Kotoko’s Communication Director, Sarfo Duku Esq., has challenged caretaker coaches Prince Owusu and Hamza Obeng to deliver a strong performance against Accra Hearts of Oak following the exit of head coach Karim Zito.
Speaking on Pure FM, Sarfo Duku revealed that the club accepted Coach Zito’s resignation amid growing tension among supporters due to the team’s recent poor performances.
“We accepted the resignation letter from head coach Karim Zito because there were even rumours that supporters would invade the pitch if he sat on the bench again due to the club’s poor performance,” he stated.
With the coach no longer in charge, Duku has thrown his support behind the caretaker duo but expects results in Sunday’s crucial clash against their arch-rivals.
0“Since the coach is not around, I challenge the caretakers to do well against Hearts of Oak on Sunday. We will not hesitate to have faith in them if they perform well during this stop-gap period. They will be the first coaches to be considered for the job when the time comes to appoint a substantive coach,” he added.
Kotoko will face Hearts of Oak in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter as the Porcupine Warriors aim to restore confidence among their supporters.
