Champions Bibiani Gold Stars came from behind to beat Heart of Lions 2-1 at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday to keep hopes of defending the maiden title they won last season.
Leaders Medeama SC dropped points after being held to a goalless draw by FC Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
Seedorf Asante had put Lions ahead in the first half.
However, the Miners came from the break a stronger side, pushing Bashir Hayford’s side for the equaliser.
It came with 15 minutes to go as leading goalscorer in the division, Samuel Atta Kumi, restored parity.
With the match day 23 clash seemingly headed for a draw, Godfred Arthur snatched the winner to give Gold Stars the maximum points.
The defending champions head back home to await Hearts of Oak, who were held to a goalless draw by Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.
