The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) is thrilled about the passing of the Sports Fund Bill, which is expected to alleviate the country’s sports funding challenges and pave the way for sustainable sports success.
The GOC President, Richard Akpokavie Esq. emphasizes that just as Value Added Tax (VAT) has become a vital source of funding for major national interventions, the Sports Fund will similarly boost Ghana’s sports development.
The Fund is expected to address the chronic underfunding that has plagued Ghana sports, enabling the country to invest in infrastructure, athlete welfare, and grassroots programs.
The Federations are the biggest beneficiaries of the Sports Fund that can help Ghana achieve its sporting goals and improve its performance on the international stage.
