The Oldies Stars of Ghana Association has presented a Citation of Appreciation to Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah for her strong support for women’s football development in the country.

Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Recreation and Coordinator for Recreation and Wellness, sponsored the first international friendly between the Oldies Stars of Ghana women’s football team and Togo’s Association of Femmel Foot Sante-Togo.

She provided financial, material, Twellium products, and motivational support.

“This was about faith in sports to restore dignity,” Hon. Betty said.

“It reflects the core factor that drives my work, the promotion of active living and wellness among all age groups. I dedicate this honour to all players whose courage on the field inspires us all, and to my NaRWP team whose dedication makes this work possible.”

Present were hardworking executives from the National Recreation and Wellness Program Team (NaRWP), who lead grassroots wellness initiatives nationwide.

The citation, signed by Mr. Benjamin Annor and Rev. Ed Acrton, called her “a true champion of women’s sports development in Ghana.”

Her support helped retired players return to the pitch to show young girls that there is a future in football.

The recognition underscores growing momentum around women’s sports in Ghana, as stakeholders continue to push for increased investment and visibility for female athletes.
