A controversial penalty to Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC gave them a 1-1 draw against Bechem United on Matchday 28.
The Hunters had taken the lead at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in the second half through marksman Augustine Okrah.
Yaw Annor had made a dash on the left, sending an inswinger to a waiting Okrah, who headed home to go joint top on the goalscorers chart with 11 goals, same as Samuel Atta Kumi of Bibiani Goldstars SC.
With a couple of minutes to go, however, referee Mohammed Misbaou whistled for an infringement against Prince Owusu in the Bechem United penalty area.
Striker Salim Adams stepped up to beat Emmanuel Anning in post for the Hunters.
Despite Saturday’s drop in points, Medeama continue to stay atop the standings with 50 points, two more than the champions, Goldstars.
Interestingly, their next game will be at home to Asante Kotoko.
The Hunters move to 9th on the log but on the same points as Dreams FC and Basake Holy Stars.
They are next scheduled to play Hohoe United, who have withdrawn from the 2025/26 season.
