Spintex Knights spank Ashaiman Academy in Accra Basketball League debutante clash

In the first ever outing for Ashaiman Basketball Academy and Spintex Knights in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II, it was Spintex that walked away with the win and an emphatic result to boot.

Knights run over Ashaiman earlier today at the Prisons Court in Cantonments with a 93-51 win; the young Ashaiman side was no match for a Knights team loaded with talent.

Match Report

Ashaiman’s Frank Worbil drained a three point shot but missed out on adding more points to his tally in a poor shooting quarter for Ashaiman by missing both free throws just at the end of the first half.

Knights had a bevy of scorers including Benjamin Omari and John Okumoh score a bunch of points. Henry Horlali did a fine job on the offensive boards for Knights. Spintex led 37-17 at half time.

Ashaiman trailed 39-66 at the end of the third quarter. Curtis Atsagli drained a trio of three pointers; Benjamin Adjetey and Godwin Obih-Mills got points too for Ashaiman.

Knights pulled away from Ashaiman later in the quarter by getting completed three point plays from Benjamin Ashitei and Treasure Botchway.

Ernest Quayson proved to be the main offensive outlet for Ashaiman in the fourth quarter; he scored a pair of three pointers.

Horlali completed a three point play as did Ashitei off a dunk. High flyer Ashitei slammed an alley Oop dunk off a pass from Omari. Elvis Pobi-Siaw beat the buzzer with a patented corner three point shot to close the game.
