Ghanaian midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari has spoken of his desire to return to international football after an 8-year absence.
Muntari hasn’t played for the Black Stars since the 2014 FIFA World Cup after he was involved in a fist brawl with national team management member, Moses Armah in Brazil.
The former AC Milan midfielder has since rendered a public apology for his conduct and declared himself available for selection to the technical team.
After enjoying a relatively successful spell on the local scene with former African champions, Hearts of Oak, the midfielder who turns 38 next month has declared himself available to represent the nation once more.
“Ghana even if I’m in my crutches today and they call me to come help, I’ll definitely run and go. Even if I can’t play, I’ll sit there and contribute,” he told Kwabena Yeboah on GTV Sports+’s Sports Highlights show on Monday.
The 3-time FIFA World Cup appearance maker (2006, 2010, and 2014) signed for the Phobians in late January 2022 and was unveiled by the club on February 1.
He made 11 league appearances, scored once, and provided 3 assists in a season that saw him win the President’s Cup and the MTN FA Cup for the side led by young trainer Samuel Boadu.
