Sports Ministry strike partnership with National Service to boost sports and empower youth

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Service Scheme (NSS).

The agreement, which seeks to harness the energy and talent of young professionals, was officially inked at the Sports Ministry in Accra on Wednesday.

Key figures present at the signing included Minister Mustapha Ussif, Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Gifty Oware-Mensah, and Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

Under this new partnership, all Ghana Premier League and Division One and Two league clubs will have the opportunity to request NSS personnel to support their various activities. These dedicated individuals will contribute their skills and expertise in areas such as marketing, communication, social media management, psychology, physiotherapy, and more, across different sporting disciplines.

This initiative aims to not only accelerate the growth of sports in the country but also provide young professionals with valuable opportunities to gain experience in the sports industry. The collaboration is expected to foster a stronger connection between the sports sector and the NSS, ultimately benefiting both the clubs and the aspiring service personnel.

The signing of this memorandum of understanding signals a positive step forward in harnessing the potential of young talent and promoting sports development in Ghana. As the program unfolds, it is anticipated that it will have a lasting impact on the nation’s sporting landscape.
