GFA boss Kurt Okraku chairs maiden National Juvenile Committee meeting

Chairman of the National Juvenile Committee and President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt E.S. Okraku, on Thursday, 28th March, 2024, met with members of the newly constituted Juvenile Committee in Accra.

The meeting generally discussed policies, guidelines and initiatives for Colts football with the goal of improving Colts (Juvenile) football in Ghana.

The President, in addressing the Committee, indicated that it is his wish to see Colts football develop at a fast rate since it is this level of the game that feeds all the age group National teams and, ultimately, the clubs.

To improve the standard of Colts football in Ghana, President Kurt Okraku indicated that the Ghana Football Association will sponsor 300 Coaches of Colts clubs to undertake the License D Coaching Course each year for the next three years. This, he indicated, would help to improve the quality of Coaching at the Colts level and impact positively on the standard of play in Colts Football matches.

The President also announced that, in addition to the Coaching Courses, the GFA will provide media training to the District Football Associations as well as Club Administrators.

Other initiatives regarding registration of Colts players and free First Aid training were also discussed at the meeting.

The aim of the Ghana Football Association is to develop key aspects of Grassroots Football including Coaching and Administration whilst providing support for the District and Regional Football Associations.
