Mandela African Boxing Cup: 7 lucky boxers in finals even before throwing a punch

Seven lucky boxers – five women and two men – are through to the finals of Mandela African Boxing Cup tournament without throwing a punch.

The seven were favoured by the draws conducted today in South Africa’s coastal city of Durban.

In the women’s category, the five in the finals are Eswatini’s light-middleweight T.Dlamini, Kenya’s middleweight Liz Andiego, DR Congo’s light-heavyweight M.Mwika and heavyweights, DR Congo’s Tekasala Malewu and South Africa’s M.Ngobeni both of whom made it to the finals because their weight class had only two entrants.
