Kotoko ease into MTN FA Cup round of 16, see off Accerler8z 2-0

Kwame Opoku and Henry Ansu were on target as Asante Kotoko defeated Accerler8z 2-0 in the Round of 32 of the MTN FA Cup. The lower-tier side went into the game looking to upset the Porcupine Warriors but the Reds went past them with cheeky-ease.

Saaka Dauda won a penalty for Asante Kotoko in the 4oth minute after being brought down by the Accerler8z goalkeeper having rounded him. Kwame Opoku made no mistake as he planted into the bottom corner for the opening goal.

The forward came close two minutes later but his goal bound effort was blocked by the defence of Accerler8z to keep the score at 1-0. The game progressed with Asante Kotoko dominating possession and looking for an opening for their second goal and that moment arrived in added time when Henry Ansu scored the second goal to wrap things up for the Reds.

The result takes Asante Kotoko to the Round of 16 of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup in search of their 10th Cup title.
