Osmanu Haruna to defend WBO Africa title against Nigerian on Cabic Big Fight Night

Ghana’s WBO Africa heavyweight champion, Osumanu Haruna AKA Saabo will defend the belt against Iddris Affini of Nigeria this weekend, per an ultimatum to defend his title or get be stripped.

According to a representative of the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa, Haruna (15-3-0) is due to defend against the  experienced Afinni (15-7-2), same man he defeated to win the title back in December 2023

Haruna Osumanu AKA Saabo – defends WBO Africa heavyweight title against Iddris Affini of Nigeria on Friday

The rematch features on the Cabic Big Fight Night bill happening at the Idrowhyt Events Centre in Dansoman, Accra this Friday, January 31, 2025.

The event will feature some classic boxers like Olympian Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi, Theo ‘Lopez’ Allotey and Emmanuel Quaye from the Wisdom Boxing Gym, Daniel Sellasi Gorsh alias ‘Emperor and Abubakar ‘Tilapia’ Kamoko from the Bronx Gym.

Other fighters include Kevin Abraham Carter, Africanus Neequaye, Michael Darko, Delali Miledzi, Emmanuel Mankattah among others.

Gates open at 6pm and the fees are pegged at Gh¢200  for ringside, Gh¢100 for regular and Gh¢50 for popular stand.
