Ghana’s men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams on Tuesday at the Laboma Beach in Accra, rounded up their last training session for the week leading up to the Africa Beach Volleyball Championships in Morocco, June 22-30.
The competition featuring Africa’s best volleyball nations will also serve as the continent’s qualifying tournament for the World Championships in Australia in August.

Ghana Volleyball Association President George Tetteh hailed the intense preparations of Team Ghana as the best ever and expressed confidence in the two national teams, especially following their recent success in Rwanda.
The men’s team’s head coach, Seidu Ajanako declared that his players are in buoyant mood and prepared to grab their spot in the World Championship in Australia “because they have mastered the technical parts of the game.”

Kelvin Caboo, the men’s team’s acting captain, expressed his confidence that Ghana can emerge as a dominant power in African volleyball and commended the current administration.
“It is very important that we excel at this tournament, qualifying in Morocco will increase the federation’s chances of obtaining corporate sponsorship,” said Bawa Fusseini, Board Chairman of the Ghana Volleyball Association.
