Former WBC Featherweight and Super Featherweight Champion, Professor Samuel Azumah Nelson has advised young sportsmen and women to put God first ahead of every thing they do.
“I want to advise them to know God and put God first, also they should not resist the calling because not everyone is chosen so the chosen ones should allow themselves to be used for God’s work” he expressed.
In an exclusive chat during the Sports Day, Azumah stated that he always gives thanks and praise to the most high because He has been very good and guided him very well.
He stated that some people are privileged while others struggle, however that is nature and those who struggle must not give up because if they continue to persever the chances and opportunities will come.
He also cautioned boxers to sleep early to have enough rest to train.
He said the early bird catches the worm, so they should sleep early and have time to train early morning.
Thirdly, he advised young sports rising stars to obey their trainers and coaches.
“Obedience is better than sacrifice and that is a key that opens many doors of opportunities” he said.
Azumah Nelson who was decorated as Ghana’s best sports personality in the last 50 years by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana said grace and favour found him that is why he is very special and exceptional.
The 8-time SWAG Personality of the Year gave much praise and thanks to God for making him who he is.
