SeedAfrique hosts Thrilling Athletics Championship in Kumasi

The maiden Relay Championship, hosted by Seedafrique in collaboration with Ghana Athletics, took place on February 14th, 2026, at Paa Joe Stadium, KNUST, and it was a huge success. The event brought together over 400 athletes from various school athletics clubs and affiliations, showcasing the country’s growing talent in track and field.

The Ghana Police Service athletics team emerged as the strongest senior relay team, winning the 4x200m and 4x800m events, and taking third place in the 4x100m. KNUST’s team put up an impressive performance, winning the 4x100m male and female categories, with their ladies’ team surprising many with their skills.

The championship featured athletes from multiple age categories, including Under-15, Under-18/20, and Seniors, each showcasing impressive speed and teamwork. The event was structured to highlight both young talent and seasoned athletes, with a focus on precision, timing, and coordination.

Seedafrique, the event’s organizers, commended the athletes, coaches, and partners for their contributions to the championship’s success. They also expressed gratitude to Dr. Timothy Mensah and the KNUST sports Directorate for hosting the event at Paa Joe Stadium.

The event’s success marks a significant milestone for Ghana’s athletics scene, and Seedafrique looks forward to further elevating the standards of competitive athletics in the country.
