After decisively beating Gary Buckland to claim the British Empire Lightweight belt last Saturday night, Richard Oblitey Commey will finally bring the title home this weekend.
Richard Commey promised he will win and bring the Commonwealth title to Ghanaians and he finally gets the chance to fulfill his pledge when he lands at the Kotoka International with the belt come this Saturday morning.
Commey and his coach, Carl Lokko are expected to depart London on Friday night when their plane leaves Heathrow Airport aboard British Airways at 22.40 GMT and lands 05.05 am in Accra to an expected large army of supporters of the boxer nicknamed Azonto.

Commey improved his 100% career record to 18 fights with 17 knockouts to boot after claiming a one-side unanimous points’ decision win over Welshman, Gary Buckland at the York Hall, Bethnal Green in London.
The world title chasing Ghanaian thus added the Commonwealth Lightweight title to the Africa Boxing Union (ABU) belt he already owns in the same weight division, having also previously won the IBF Continental Africa title.
Now he arrives back home after camping in London since February for the Commonwealth title fight to begin the next phase on the road to world championship glory.
