The countdown is over and all roads lead to the Accra Sports Stadium this evening when the BabyJet Promotions’ bill codenamed ‘Who rules the ring?’ takes centre stage with the headline bout featuring Ghanaian showman, Emmanuel Tagoe up against Sadiki Momba, the tough talking Tanzanian boxer.
At stake is the WBA Intercontinental Lightweight belt and both boxers have been talking tough since the arrival of Momba in Accra last Saturday, even nearly engaging in a fight outside the ring at Tuesday’s press conference at the same Accra Sports Stadium.
Both boxers made the weight successfully at yesterday’s weigh-in, Tagoe AKA Game Boy coming through with 132 lbs against the 133 of Momba and Gyan, President of the BabyJet Promotions syndicate is sure preparation for the event has been apt.
“I can’t wait for (Friday night),” he told AsamoahGyan3.com.
“Not only the main bout which I think will be keenly contested but for the under card fights as well. My team have done a great job and I am sure the fans who will come and see the fight will be very happy and entertained,” Gyan added.
Other mouthwatering bouts ion the undercard of the BabyJet Promotions bill include the much anticipated WBA Pan-Africa Super Bantamweight championship featuring Raymond Commey of Ghana against Nick Otieno of Tanzania over 12 rounds.
Also at stake on Friday night is the Ghana national Super Bantamweight title fight between Abraham Osei Bonsu and Michael Pappoe, the national Welterweight championship pitting Ayi Bruce against Kofi Manu whilst Ishmael Aryeetey and Michael ‘Bullet’ Ansah clash for an eliminator for the Ghana Lightweight title.
Other fights on the night of ‘Who rules the ring?’ are the Featherweight contest between Felix Williams and John Oblitey Commey as well as a Bantamweight contest featuring Prosper Ankrah against a yet to be confirmed opponent.
