Legon Cities FC edged closer to securing their safety in the Ghana Premier League for the 2021/2022 football season after posting a narrow 1-0 win over Inter Allies FC on Monday evening.
The Royals at the start of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign struggled to compete.
As a result, they were engaged in a relegation battle through to the end of the first round of the league campaign.
Under Coach Bashir Hayford who was later appointed, the experienced gaffer has managed to inspire the team to turn around their fortunes.
Currently one of the most in-form teams in the Ghana Premier League, Legon Cities FC today has bagged three crucial points from the game against matchday 28 opponent Inter Allies FC.
In a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium, a solitary strike from attacker Cephas Doku in the 57th minute did the trick for the home team as they cruised to the important win.
Courtesy of the win, Legon Cities FC have now climbed to 9th on the Ghana Premier League table and seven places away from the relegation zone.
For Inter Allies FC, their woes continue as they stay rooted at the bottom of the league log.
