Hearts crowned Ghana league champions for first time in 12 years

Ghana champions Hearts of Oak have been draw against Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar in the Preliminary Round of the CAF Champions League.

This is following a draw which was conducted on Friday in Cairo, Egypt.

The Guineans will host the first leg of the tie on 10-12 September 2021 in Conakry before the second leg in Accra on 17-19 September.

Former Kotoko captain, Amos Frimpong only this week completed a one-year deal to the Guinean champions following a spell with Techiman Eleven Wonders in the just concluded 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians are returning to the continental showpiece since their last appearance in 2015 where they were eliminated by Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

The winner of the tie between Hearts and Kamsar will face Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Athletic Club in the first round in October.

The winner of the first round tie advances to the group stage of the competition which starts in February 2022.
