Flora Johnson from Great Britain won the girls singles final against Zimbabwe’s Rufaro Magarira who was seeded as the number one of the ITF World Tennis Tour J5 by 7-6(5),6-4 at the tennis court of the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Rufaro Magarira was the top seed and gave Flora Johnson a good run for her money with exquisite and solid defense but the more experienced Flora Johnson took the first set through a tie – breaker and never looked backed in the second set.
She has now booked her ticket to play in the ITF World Tennis Tour J4 but will face crack tennis players who will be arriving today whiles others will be playing qualifiers before they can join the competition which starts Monday morning.
It’s four weeks of exciting Tennis to be played here in Ghana but it’s over for the J5 and tomorrow is going to be tough because ITF World Tennis Tour will welcome the crack tennis players in the J4 category.
It starts Monday as most of the players played other qualifiers before qualifying for the J4 category.
J5 male winner, Min Jae Kim as well as Reda Bennani and Ghana’s Desmond Ayaaba will also compete in the J4 tournament.
