Isaac Nunoo former National tennis star based in the US on 11th September 2021 held a tennis clinic at the National Tennis Centre, Accra.
Over 70 junior tennis players including wheelchair tennis players took part in the one-day tennis clinic.
The tennis players were taken through drills and strategies led by Coach Henry Quansah with support from Yahya Macauley, Victoria Dowuona, Isaac Mensah, Eric Tetteh Nartey and coach Philip Plange.
Speaking on behalf of his father Isaac Nunoo, Joshua said, am happy the clinic went very well, big thanks to the coaches who took time from their busy schedules to come over for the clinic. Am really impressed with the junior tennis players, the future looks bright for Ghana tennis’. ‘Unlike last year when we hosted top 8 junior tournament, this year’s plan was a girls’ clinic but we couldn’t forgo the boys’. He stressed.
Joshua read advice from his dad to the players, saying ‘I was very lucky to become one of the ball boys at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club as a child! I always had this smile on my face every time I stepped onto the court! In no time I became a good player and before long I was the junior champion who then represented the nation. The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come. Never give up on your dream. Live, love, laugh leave a legacy! Hard work pays off! This is my advice to all the young tennis players’.
The day clinic ended with a presentation made of tennis rackets, tennis clothes and bags to coaches to revive the sporting spirit in the country.
The junior tennis players, coaches and the officials were refreshed with lunches and minerals.
