After a magically fantastic victory over host Rwanda in the ICC T20WC Sub Regional Africa A Qualifier on Saturday, October 16, Ghana, has gone on to win 2 more matches, Lesotho being the latest on Sunday, October 17.
Ghana, having won toss against Lesotho, elected to bat first. Amoluk Singh Sehmbi (29-21) started for Ghana with James Vifah, and together got 43 before Amoluk was Caught by Maaz Khan on the 5.2 over.
Rexford Bakum continued from there pushing Ghana’s score to 112-2 in the 11 over, when James Vifah (50-27) was sacrificed.
Captain Obed Harvey whose game also ended on the 19.3 over with 41-22, had a good time with Rexford (66-31) who was caught by Jakda Omar on the 14.2 over, with Ghana’s total at 164.
Definitely, a bad day for Moses Anafie (0-1) on tge 14.4 over, who paved way for Devender Singh, with Ghana wrapping up the 15 over at 168-4.
Devender (30-15, Not out) ended the game with Joseph Theodore (8-3, Not out) with Ghana’s score at 239-5.
Lesotho were restricted to 123-10 in 18.2 overs and Ghana won by 116 runs.
Rexford Bakum was adjudged Player of the match, as he took 5-26 in 4 overs.
Rexford becomes the 3rd Ghanaian player to win Player of the Match accolade, after Samson Awiah (against Rwanda) and Kofi Bagabena (against Seychelles).
Ghana still tops the table with 6 points. Uganda follows with 4, Swaziland, Malawi and Seychelles with 2 points each before host Rwanda and Lesotho bottom with no point.
Ghana will rest on Monday and continue their quest to the sole qualification against Malawi at the Gahanga Oval at 9:15 (7:15am Gh Time).
