‘We Mean Business’ – New Ghana Basketball Association President Van-Ess

Newly elected Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) President, Ato Van-Ess has stated his administration is all business in his opening speech in the immediate aftermath of the declaration of results at the GBBA Congress organized on Saturday, October 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium Media Centre.

Former Western Regional Basketball Association Chairman Van-Ess beat Dr. Andre Kwasi-Kumah to the Presidential Seat and takes over as President from David Addo-Ashong.

In his first remarks as President, the University of Cape Coast product thanked all for the support and peaceful event before going to speak on what his administration is all about:

New Executives get sworn into office

“Basketball has won. I am very happy that we are not even seeing shouting and screaming here because we understand that basketball has won the day and basketball is an interesting game; we are one family,” he said.

“We are brothers and sister and what we have to understand is that nobody is going build or develop basketball for us. The all inclusive development slogan is not for campaign purposes we mean business and it means that we are going to involve all…and we even need to go outside our court to get some stakeholders on board,” Mr.Van-Ess added.
