Awutu Winton Water Polo Club lost the latest friendly match against sworn rivals, Accra Arts Centre Water Polo Club at the Splash Social Center at Spintex in Accra at the weekend.
This is the third time these two sides are meeting because Accra Arts Centre went to Awutu Winton for a first game drawn match and came to Accra to defeat Arts Centre at Splash Social Center within the year and it was the third game last Saturday at the same place.
Awutu Winton Water Polo Club started on a bright note to take 3:0 lead against Arts Centre with goals coming from Evander Longdon and Adjei Ishmael the talismen for Awutu Winton whiles goalkeeper Mensa, Oko, Kwesi also did well for Arts Centre.
At the end of stimulated time the score was a draw so extra time of two minutes each with a golden goal as the winner, Arts Centre Water Polo Club got the winner and won the ultimate against Awutu Winton Water Polo Club.
Water Polo is played within 45minutes in a 25m, 9ft pool.
Awutu Winton Water Polo Club was the first to be started by Prince Nana Asante Sefa-Boakye and his friends of Enoch Nii Nortey Nortey, Stephen Tawiah and Nii Kaka Quarshie.
Ghana Swimming Association has accepted how Asante has developed Water Polo and the tireless president, Mad. Delphina Quaye was there to grace the ocassion.
Madam Delphina Quaye was happy with what she saw at the Splash Social Center and commended Nana Asante Sefa-Boakye and the organisers for the wonderful display of Water Polo.
Ghana Swimming Association has accepted the role Asante is playing to raise the standard of Water Polo in Ghana high and they will be on their way also this weekend to donate items to Water Polo players in Sogakope.
