‘We Mean Business’ – New Ghana Basketball Association President Van-Ess

Mr. Van-Ess addresses congress after his victory

Ato Van-Ess’ election as Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) President at the recently held GBBA Congress means the top position in the sport in the West African nation is once again occupied by a member of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA).

Van-Ess won the Presidential race at the Congress held this past weekend ahead of Dr. Andre Kwasi-Kumah and he takes over from David Addo-Ashong.

Former GBBA President Addo-Ashong is a former student of the Cape Coast based Mfantsipim School and was voted into office in 2010.

Both men are former basketball players who played at various levels of competitions in the sport before turning their focus to administrating the sport.
