King Faisal chief Gruzah targets lofty league title ambiton

Founder, owner and bankroller of Kumasi based, King Faisal Babies, Alhaji Abdul Karim Gruzah says his target is to see his side lift the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.

King Faisal have started the new season on a high, amassing maximum points from their two games thus far and sit jointly atop the standings alongside their more illustrious city rivals, Asante Kotoko. Faisal struck late to pick all three points on the opening match day at home to WAFA. Gruzah’s men then stunned Aduana Stars 3-1 right at the renowned Nana Agyeman Badu II Stadium in Dormaa.

But Gruzah whose side only survived the Ghanaian top flight last season by the skin of their teeth, edging out Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs only on a better head-to-head record, believes Faisal are now in a good position to challenge for the ultimate and has sent out a strong warning to next opponents, Ashantigold SC.

“King Faisal will cause a real surprise in Ghana this season. Yes we still have financial difficulties but we are still aiming to win the league this season, Insha Allah” Gruzah said in a radio interview.

“We have a lot of young players in our team, and you all saw what we did to Aduana Stars. Ashgold are next, we will beat them this Saturday,” Gruzah said full of poise.

“Oh we will beat Ashgold,” he added merrily.
