Ghana Rugby: Court slaps Herbert Mensah, Rafatu Inusah with GHS1k fine, throw out application and order them to file defence

In a failed several attempts to run from justice, the High Court has ruled that Herbert Mensah and Rafatu Inusah present their defence on the writ served on them by Ghana Rugby Football Union as Plaintiff.

The said writ which is dated 29th October 2021 sought certain reliefs. (see writ below)

Ghana Rugby vrs Herbert Amponsah Mensah & Anor 01.11.21

The defendants have failed to file defences and only presented an application seeking to throw out the writ by the plaintiff.

It has been clear from all indications that Herbert Mensah has been running away from justice by putting up gimmicks and pretences.

The Ghana Rugby Football Union held a Special General Meeting on 8th June 2021 where Herbert Mensah was removed by delegates through voting as Board Member, President, Board Chair and CEO of the federation. Herbert Mensah therefore does not represent Ghana Rugby in any capacity as the decision of delegates was with immediate effect.

However, power drunk Herbert Mensah has refused to leave office and still purports to hold himself to Africa Rugby, sponsors and the general public as President, Board Chair and CEO.

In a voice audio by Herbert Mensah he acknowledged that it is only the SGM (Special General Meeting) that can remove any member of the board from any capacity. Herbert Mensah therefore knows that the SGM has removed him from office.

The decision of the High Court to order Herbert Mensah to present his defence is very key to accountability, transparency, good governance and justice.

The wheels of justice they say is slow but will surely reach its final destination.
