Teen boxing sensation Joseph Awinongya Jr arrives in Ghana for the first time

14-year-old USA born Ghanaian boxer, Joseph Awinongya Jr has arrived in Accra, Ghana for the first time on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

The rising Superstar who has won several accolades in boxing in the United States was accompanied by his parents and siblings.

He was welcomed by an enthusiastic crowd spotting his Tee Shirt. The welcome party included the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union, young boxers from the Ghana Boxing Federation juvenile and youth teams and Besesaka Boxing Kids.

Speaking to the media at the Kotoka International Airport, he expressed joy to be in Ghana and hoped to inspire other kids and youth to be focused and achieve their hearts desires.

His dad, Joseph Awinongya Snr. a former boxer, now coach said it a great feeling to be back home, and he hinted that they are in Ghana to carry out some projects.

While in Ghana, they will meet some personalities like the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Usif, Alhaji Inusah, the chief of Ashaiman, Nii Annang Adzor II, Sammy Anim Addo CEO of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation and others.

Joseph Awinongya Jnr. is a 13 times national junior boxing champion in the United States of America.
