Yaw Preko rejoins Great Olympics as assistant coach

Coach Yaw Preko has rejoined Accra Great Olympics as an assistant coach until the end of the 2021-2022 football season, the club announced on it’s Facebook page.

Coach Preko returns to the club for the second time in a year having played a stand-in role for coach Annor Walker during last season’s league.

The former Hearts of Oak trainer played five matches as interim coach of Olympics, winning three, losing one and drawing one in the process.

The trainer has been unattached for sometime after his short spell at Medeama SC came to an end having been sacked by the Tarkwa-based club.

Confirming coach Preko’s arrival, the club said “Coach Yaw Preko rejoins us till the end of the season as our assistant…Welcome back home Yaw Rush”

Coach Preko’s return serves as a boost for the technical team of the Wonder Club who are placed second on the ongoing Ghana Premier League log.

The club on Monday defeated Real Tamale United 2-1 to move to second on the Ghana Premier League standings.

The capital-based outfit is just 9 points behind Asante Kotoko and aims to mount a chase in the remainder of the campaign.
