Akufo-Addo presents the new President’s Cup trophy to stakeholders

The President of the Republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Thursday, met representatives the organizers of the 2022 President’s Cup, GHALCA, the Sports Minister, as well as representatives of the two participating teams, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko at the Presidency (Jubilee House) to officially present the trophy to the stakeholders.

H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic presents the 2022 President’s Cup to organizers at the Jubilee House – Accra.

The meeting was to discuss issues relating to the game on Friday, security and safety conditions as the president handed over the trophy to the organizers of the competition, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).

The contingent was led by the Sports Minister, Honourable Mustapha Ussif. Representing the organizers was the GHALCA President, Cudjoe Fianoo. The two participating teams were duly represented. Accra Hearts of Oak were represented by Alhaji Brimah Akambi, Member of the Board of Directors of the club, whiles Asante Kotoko was represented by the club CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah.

Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will lock horns on Friday evening at the Accra sports stadium in a ceremonial match – the President’s Cup in honour of the sitting president of republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The game has been scheduled to kick off at 18:00GMT and will be telecast live on national television, GTV Sports+.
