Hearts of Oak board member Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has insisted Sulley Muntari shouldn’t be rushed back into the Black Stars.
There has been a rallying call for the 37-year-old ex-Inter Milan midfielder to be handed a call-up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header against Nigeria.
Muntari, who joined the Phobians barely two months ago, has scored once and provided an assist in 5 Ghana Premier League games.
While the pitch has been rising for the inclusion of the experienced midfield dynamo in the Ghana squad for the game, Nyaho Tamakloe who worked with the player as GFA boss in 2004 has insisted the ex-AC Milan star must be given time.
“I worked with Sulley Muntari in 2004 when he was with the U23 squad. I was then the GFA boss,” he told Benedict Kwadwo Mensah on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show
It is clear that he is doing well] but let’s not rush him back to the team. I believe when the time is right, Sulley himself would know it and decide on it,” Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe added.
Muntari hasn’t been featured by the Black Stars since the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
