The Ghana Black Stars have been hit with absences of some players ahead of the crucial two-legged slugfest with Nigeria’s Super Green Eagles.
Ghana will face their Nigerian counterparts this month for a ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
However, newly installed Head Coach Otto Addo and his technical team will have to do q without the services of 9 players.
To begin with, Skipper Andre Ayew misses out due to suspension following a red card he suffered in Ghana’s ill-fated AFCON 2021 defeat to Comoros.
His younger brother Jordan Ayew is also set to miss out due to a Coronavirus infection.
Striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom misses out due to injury and it’s the same situation for the likes of Wakaso Mubarak, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Abdul Baba Rahman and Antoine Semenyo who would have earned a debut call-up.
Samuel Owusu also misses out due to sickness while promising right back Philemon Baffour is also out through injury.
The Black Stars Head Coach Otto and his team will pitch camp in Kumasi on Tuesday March 22 to prepare for the first leg before traveling to Nigeria for the second leg.
The first leg takes place on Friday March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium with the second leg taking place at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium on March 29.
