Moloney brothers set for US return tonight in Costa Mesa, CA

Highly touted Australian duo Andrew and Jason Moloney are all set for their US returns, as the pair look to continue their pushes towards world titles.

The pair return live on ESPN this weekend with cracks at the world title firmly in their sights, with the pair continuing to hold lofty ratings in respective sanctioning bodies.

Andrew Moloney has already had a taste of being world champion, and the former 115lbs king outlined his ambitions for a future crack at the world title.

Andrew stated, “Firstly I’m glad to be back on US soil and back in the ring on ESPN, so a massive thank you to Top Rank, my manager Tony Tolj and the whole team for getting me back in the ring in the USA.

“I’m not overlooking anyone this weekend, this is a real fight as they always are on ESPN. I have to look good if I have a chance of throwing myself in the sweepstakes for a big fight either in the USA, Japan or Australia. Kazuto Ioka is who I want next, and I have to make a statement this weekend to prove I deserve that chance.”

Slightly bigger brother Jason, who currently holds the WBC world silver bantamweight title after ripping it away from Josh Greer last year, also features on the card from Southern California’s Hangar. Jason opened up about his latest US outing.

The two time world title challenger said, “I’m pushing to make it third time lucky when it comes to world title challenges, so therefore I have to be punch perfect this weekend and continue to be explosive.

“Thank you once again to Tony Tolj, Top Rank and ESPN for bringing me back in the USA. I’m excited to show the fans on ESPN what I’m all about and I want to show why I will hopefully become the mandatory challenger to the great Nonito Donaire. That’s a fight I want next one way or another. That’s what dreams are made of.”
