Ghana winger Fatawu Issahaku travelled with Sporting CP’s first team for the win at Boavista

Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku travelled with Sporting Lisbon’s first team for the first time for the league game against Boavista.

The 18-year-old, who signed a five year deal with the Portuguese giants last month, is getting close to making his senior debut for the club.

Issahaku was part of the team to Boavista but has to wait for another week to possibly make his debut after he was not included in the team list for the match.

Sporting CP thumped their hosts at the Estadio de Bessa to keep the pressure on league leaders Porto.

Matheus Nunes opened the scoring for the Green and Whites in the 37th minute after a brilliant moment of display from the visitors.

Sporting Lisbon mounted more pressure in the second half, forcing Rodrigo Abascal into scoring an own goal before Bruno Tabata sealed victory with an 83rd minute penalty.

The win keeps Sporting six points behind leaders FC Porto with three games remaining.
