Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Elvis Manu was left frustrated after his last minute handball in the box led to Wisla Krakow’s defeat to Wisla Plock.
The 28-year-old was on target for Wisla Krakow as the game headed for a 3-3 draw, before he conceded a penalty in injury time to hand the visitors the advantage. Mateusz Szwoch made no mistake from the spot as Wisla Plock won 4-3.
“It was a reaction. I wanted to play my head but the ball came very quickly. I don’t know exactly what happened, but it was a natural reaction. The hand was up and the ball touched the pads of the fingers. I knew immediately that it would be a penalty,” Manu told TVSPORT.PL.
“When you play such a match, you chase the result and in the end you lose everything, the disappointment is very big. In our situation, every point counts and it is a pity that we did not manage to win it.
“I was very frustrated. We didn’t play well in the first half, but then we managed to turn things around. We put a lot of energy into our game, but this loss in the last minutes is very painful.
“That’s true. I’ve had various situations in my career, but this one is extremely hard to swallow.”
Manu has netted two goals in seven matches for the Polish topflight side.
