Ghana’s leading para athlete, Botsyoe Nkegbe has left the shores of the country to the USA in order to keep himself in shape for qualifiers to the 2022 Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, UK in August.
Botsyoe Nkegbe will train with his American colleagues in Arizona in preparation towards qualifying for the Commonwealth Games.
In this quest, Nkegbe has earned the support of corporate Ghana with Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ltd top of the list.
“We believe in giving back to the society so as part of our corporate social responsibility. We have been supporting people with disability in sports and Raphael has received such gestures from us for a couple of years,” said a statement from Opportunity International Savings and Loans Limited.
“We have also supported the Ghana Armwrestling Federation in a similar direction. We know that his participation will project the image of Ghana,” it continued.
“Opportunity International Savings and Loans Limited support people with disability in different ways. We believe in disability slogan thus “Disability is not Inability’. That is also why we have specialised and subsidized loans for people with disability,” the statement concluded.
Other sponsors of Botsyoe Nkegbe in his Commonwealth Games quest include Ghana Gas Company and India Women’s Association of Ghana.
Nkegbe has vowed to work extra hard to lift up the flag of Ghana so high through the Commonwealth Games and also the African Games 2023.
