The Ghana Athletics Association have received a cash of forty Ghana Cedis (Gh¢40,000) from the Sports Ministry to support their participation in the ongoing Confederation of Africa Athletics Championship.
The 3-day event happening at the Cape Coast Stadium has nine countries including hosts Ghana of course, Mali, Benin, Ivory Coast, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo and Liberia competing for laurels.
The competition also serves as qualification to the World Athletics U-20 Championship which comes off in Cali, Colombia on August 2.

He further underscored the healthy relationship that existed between the GAA, Sports Ministry and the NSA in ensuring Ghana compete favourably at major competitions.
“Ghana athletics appreciates the working relationship with the Ministry, particularly the Minister, Hon. Ussif Mustapha and the National Sports Authority. We will work to make athletics better,” he stated.
The event got underway on Thursday May 19 and is set to end on Saturday May 21 , 2022.
