Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman is delighted and “feels at home” after completing a loan move to Championship campaigners Reading for a second season
The 28-year-old also has his eyes on being a part of the Black Stars for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“I just need to put in good performances here and I hope I get selected to the national team which is one of my greatest honour. So, I just need to put in a great shift here and hope things work for me,” Rahman said in an interview with the Reading website.
The left-back, who signed for Chelsea from Augsburg in 2015 and played 23 times during his debut season, returns to the Championship side for the remainder of 2022/23.
According to Rahman who has had injury worries in the past, he is feeling fit and ready to contribute to Reading’s promotion push.
“I feel good, I feel great, back to familiar territory and I am happy to be here,” Rahman said.
“I am happy to be here and if feels like home for me”.
Rahman has been on loan spells to five clubs namely; Schalke, Reims, Mallorca, PAOK and Reading. His Chelsea contract expires in 2024.
