Ghanaian trio Jayden Addai, Ernest Poku, and Rome-Jayden Owusu Oduro will come face to face with Spanish giants Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 UEFA Youth League.

The three players all started in the round of 16 victory over Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Wednesday as Kees Smit opened the score in a fabulous way, after which a double strike by Mexx Meerdink secured the emphatic win for the Dutch side.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid reached the quarter-finals after Alvaro Arbeloa’s side claimed a 3-1 win over last season’s finalists RB Salzburg at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Wednesday.

Owusu-Oduro, 18, has warmed the bench 8 times this season for Alkmaar in the Eredivisie and was in between the sticks for the De Kaasboeren and kept a clean sheet in the game.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old forward Jayden Addai was also one of the attackers who started the game and lasted until the 88th minute when his place was taken by Ro Daal Zangelo.

19-year-old Ernest Poku was replaced after 72 minutes as Alkmaar recorded the emphatic win to book their place in the quarter-finals where they will face Real Madrid.
