Ghana has been confirmed as the host nation for the 2027 edition of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, following an announcement by Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku on social media.

The President of the Ghana Football Association and Vice President of CAF revealed the development in a Facebook post, signalling another major boost for the country’s growing reputation as a host of elite continental competitions.

The tournament will bring together Africa’s finest youth talents, offering a platform for the next generation of stars to showcase their abilities on a global stage.

Ghana, a nation with a rich history in youth football, is no stranger to success at this level.

The Black Satellites remain one of Africa’s most decorated sides in the competition, having previously clinched the title multiple times, including their historic triumph at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009.

Hosting the 2027 U-20 AFCON is expected to further enhance football development in the country while also boosting infrastructure and local economies.

It also presents an opportunity for Ghana to once again demonstrate its organisational capabilities after successfully hosting several CAF and FIFA-sanctioned tournaments in the past.

Further details regarding venues, dates, and logistics are expected to be announced by the Confederation of African Football in due course.
