Procus Ghana Limited, manufacturers of Kivo Gari, has partnered with the Ghana Football Association to launch the Kivo Juvenile U-17 Club Champions League, a new nationwide youth football competition aimed at developing grassroots talent across the country.
The three-year partnership was officially unveiled on Thursday at the GFA Secretariat in Accra during an event attended by officials of both institutions, football stakeholders, and representatives of Procus Ghana Limited.
Speaking at the launch, GFA Vice President Mark Addo announced details of the initiative, describing it as a major boost for juvenile football development in Ghana.
According to organizers, the competition will begin at the regional level, with winning teams progressing to a national championship where the best juvenile clubs in the country will compete for honours.
The initiative is expected to provide a structured platform for identifying and nurturing young football talent while strengthening grassroots football structures nationwide.
Procus Ghana Limited Marketing Manager Evans Kwofie explained that the company decided to support the initiative because of its commitment to youth empowerment and sports development.
The company will provide support packages for participating teams, including jerseys, football boots, and other essential football equipment to aid player development throughout the competition.
As part of the ceremony, the GFA Vice President presented a signed Black Stars jersey autographed by captain Jordan Ayew to the Kivo Marketing Manager as a symbol of the new partnership between both institutions.
Officials believe the tournament will help create a clearer pathway for young footballers to develop their talents and progress within Ghana’s football system.
The tournament will kick start after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The three-year partnership takes immediate effect ahead of the inaugural edition of the competition.
